He cites two clever implementations from 2004's Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. To simulate jungle survival, perishable food items would spoil after real-world days had passed - turning sustenance into potential weapons when thrown at hungry enemies. The PS2 classic also featured an inventive sniper duel against the elderly End, whom players could bypass by waiting a real week for the foe to perish naturally.
