The journey of Daredevil: Born Again from script to screen involved numerous revisions, but remarkably, one episode remained completely unchanged: Episode 5—which, ironically, happens to be star Charlie Cox's least favorite of the season.
"I don't know if this is interesting, but I'll share that there was one episode we didn’t alter at all," Cox revealed in a recent interview with The Playlist. "It's the bank heist episode, and it was part of our original shoot before the strikes. Personally, I wasn't a fan."
Cox admitted that he "pushed back against it as much as I could." The episode centers on Matt Murdock (Daredevil) getting caught in a bank robbery while trying to secure a loan for his law firm, Nelson & Murdock, alongside partners Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll).
"The plot felt like something from a '70s crime show," Cox explained. "The technology aspect didn't feel believable today, and I thought the heist's method wasn't convincing enough."

Despite his reservations, Cox acknowledged that fans responded positively to the episode.
"I really fought against it, yet I’ve heard so many people say they love it—which just proves how subjective storytelling is," he said. "Apparently, it’s one of Disney’s highest-rated episodes internally."
Critics agreed—in our Daredevil: Born Again Episodes 5 and 6 review, we praised it: "The execution is flawless. I can’t recall a recent Marvel show that kept me so thoroughly engaged and smiling throughout. This episode finally highlights what makes Matt Murdock extraordinary, even without the suit."
