Marvel Rivals Battles Frame Rate Issues

Marvel Rivals Addresses 30 FPS Damage Bug Affecting Certain Heroes

Marvel Rivals players using lower FPS settings have reported reduced damage output for some heroes, including Dr. Strange and Wolverine. The developers have acknowledged this 30 FPS bug impacting damage calculations and are actively working on a fix.

The highly anticipated Season 1 launch, slated for January 11th, is expected to include a solution or significant improvement to this issue, enhancing overall gameplay.

Since its December 2025 release, Marvel Rivals has quickly gained popularity in the hero shooter genre. Despite initial concerns about hero balance, the game boasts an impressive 80% player approval rating based on over 132,000 Steam reviews.

Recently, a noticeable glitch affecting damage at 30 FPS has emerged. Players have reported decreased damage for heroes like Dr. Strange, Magik, Star-Lord, Venom, and Wolverine at lower frame rates. A community manager on the official Discord server confirmed these reports, noting movement issues at lower FPS settings that also impact damage. While a complete fix may take time, the community manager assured players that Season 1 (January 11th) will address the problem.

Fixing the 30 FPS Damage Issue

The root cause appears to be related to the game's client-side prediction mechanism, a common programming technique used to minimize perceived lag.

While the affected heroes and abilities weren't fully listed, Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw were specifically mentioned. The impact is more pronounced against stationary targets. If the Season 1 update doesn't completely resolve the issue, a subsequent patch will address any remaining problems.
