Elden Ring: Nightreign will remove an iconic feature of the last game. Why won't players be able to leave messages?

Elden Ring: Nightreign will omit the in-game messaging feature previously seen in other FromSoftware titles. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision in a recent interview, citing the game's shorter play sessions. With each Nightreign session lasting approximately forty minutes, there's insufficient time for players to effectively leave or read messages.

This departure from FromSoftware's established message-based interaction, a feature previously praised for enhancing player experience and interactivity, is notable. However, the development team deemed the feature unsuitable for Nightreign's design.

To maintain the integrity of the original Elden Ring, Nightreign features a separate narrative. The game offers a fresh adventure, introducing unique challenges and encounters while preserving the signature atmosphere and complexity of the Elden Ring world.
