Monster Hunter Wilds: New PC Benchmark and System Requirements Revealed

Authore: MadisonUpdate:May 06,2025

With Monster Hunter Wilds just weeks away, Capcom has launched a PC benchmark on Steam to help players gauge their system's readiness. In a move that's sure to excite fans, the company has also lowered the official PC system requirements, making the game more accessible to a broader range of hardware.

The PC benchmark, announced during the recent Capcom Spotlight, is now live on Steam. It requires some shader compilation upon loading, but it's user-friendly and provides a clear picture of your computer's performance. It's wise to run this benchmark, especially to understand how the updated system requirements will impact your gameplay.

Previously, to achieve 1080p at 60 frames per second with Frame Generation enabled, you needed a robust setup including an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, or AMD Radeon RX 6700XT; an Intel Core i5-11600K, Intel Core i5-12400, AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, or AMD Ryzen 5 5500; and 16 GB of RAM.

The updated requirements, detailed on Capcom's site alongside the benchmark, have been adjusted to be more inclusive. For Recommended settings, aiming for 1080p (FHD) at 60 frames per second with Frame Generation enabled, the new specs are:

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit required) / Windows 11 (64-bit required)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-10400 / Intel Core i3-12100 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • Memory: 16 GB
  • Graphics Card (GPU): GeForce RTX 2060 Super / Radeon RX 6600 (8 GB VRAM)
  • Storage: 75 GB (SSD required)

These revised specifications should allow Monster Hunter Wilds to run smoothly at 1080p and 60 frames per second with Frame Generation enabled, marking a significant improvement in accessibility.

Users have reported positive performance improvements in the benchmark compared to the beta test, especially when Frame Generation is enabled. However, the Steam Deck might still struggle with the game, as evidenced by my own testing attempts.

Another notable change is the storage requirement, which has dropped from 140 GB to 75 GB. This is a welcome reduction, especially as game file sizes continue to increase annually.
