The Elder Scrolls 6 Will Feature a Memorial Character For a Much-Missed Fan, Following $85,000 Donation to Make-A-Wish

Bethesda’s highly anticipated The Elder Scrolls 6 will feature a character created in memory of a beloved fan, following an extraordinary charity campaign that raised over $85,000 for Make-A-Wish.

Led by the team behind the acclaimed lore wiki The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages (UESP), the initiative will permanently honor former member Loranna Pyrel in The Elder Scrolls 6. Her forum-based roleplay series, inspired by Bethesda’s games, later influenced the creation of an in-game character by Ted Peterson, one of the series’ original writers.

Fans initially tried to secure Pyrel’s inclusion in The Elder Scrolls 6 through a silent auction hosted by Bethesda for Make-A-Wish—only to be outbid by an anonymous entrant.

In response, Bethesda agreed to make an exception and granted the UESP team another opportunity—if they matched the winning bid of $85,450. They did, thanks to generous contributions from The Elder Scrolls developers, the UESP community, and fellow fan site The Imperial Library.

“It’s kind of unbelievable that we got this far,” UESP wrote in an Instagram post. “This whole thing started with a casual comment about possibly teaming up, and it grew into something huge. We’re thrilled to bring this character into TES6.”

“We couldn’t imagine a more fitting tribute to Loranna’s impact on the Elder Scrolls community and its lore than a collective charity effort that also enriches the game’s world.”

We just finished up a meeting with Bethesda where we got to design a character for The Elder Scrolls 6. Honestly, a lot of us went into the meeting pretty nervous and even reserved, but now we're all extremely excited for what's in store. pic.twitter.com/8493WN6CBB

In a follow-up post on X today, UESP confirmed they had just concluded a meeting with Bethesda to finalize the character, saying they left “extremely excited for what’s in store.”

As for when The Elder Scrolls 6 will release, details remain uncertain. Bethesda officially unveiled the game with a teaser trailer at E3 2018—seven long years ago. In August 2023, they confirmed The Elder Scrolls 6 had entered "early development", and by March 2024, “early builds” were available. When the six-year anniversary of the announcement arrived last June, even Bethesda development chief Todd Howard paused to say, "oh wow, that has been a while."
