Krafton's latest venture, inZOI, has achieved a remarkable feat by selling 1 million copies within just one week of its release. This milestone marks the fastest sales record for any game published by the South Korean giant, showcasing the immense popularity and appeal of their new title. Launched on PC via Steam in Early Access on March 28, inZOI quickly captured the gaming community's attention, not least due to a controversial feature where players could accidentally harm children, which Krafton swiftly addressed as an "unintended bug" and patched out.
Despite this initial hiccup, inZOI has garnered a 'very positive' user review rating on Steam and reached a peak of 175,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch, securing the third spot in the Games category. The game's impressive performance didn't stop there; it soared to the top of Steam’s Global Top Sellers List by sales revenue a mere 40 minutes after its launch.
The in-game user-generated content (UGC) platform, Canvas, also saw significant engagement, with over 1.2 million participants on launch day and more than 470,000 pieces of content uploaded, highlighting the community's eagerness to create and share within inZOI's world.
IGN's Early Access review of inZOI scored it a 6/10, noting that while the game boasts visually stunning elements and ambitious design, it lacks the depth required to fully engage players at this stage of its development.
Krafton credits its pre-launch promotional efforts and continuous dialogue with the community for building the trust and momentum that propelled inZOI's successful launch. The global showcase and demo build were particularly effective in generating high interest, according to Krafton. CEO CH Kim expressed gratitude and excitement about introducing inZOI to a global audience through Early Access, emphasizing the company's commitment to ongoing communication and the development of inZOI as a long-term franchise IP.

Looking ahead, Krafton plans to roll out updates that will introduce new content, including mod support and new cities. All updates and DLC will be provided free of charge until the game's full release, ensuring continuous value for its players. In response to feedback and reported issues, Krafton has promised "quick" fixes through hotfixes during April, acknowledging the challenges of managing a vast global community and striving to optimize their communication strategies.
