The much-anticipated single-player action game, *Lost Soul Aside*, has been delayed by three months, moving its release from May 30 to August 29, 2025, as announced by its developer, Ultizero Games. After nearly a decade in development, the game was set to launch next month on PC and PlayStation 5, but the team decided to extend the timeline to late August to enhance the game's polish.
"We are truly grateful for the positive response we've received from players all over the world since we announced *Lost Soul Aside*," Ultizero Games stated. "We remain committed to delivering a high-quality game experience. To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we are going to take some additional time to polish the game. *Lost Soul Aside* will now release on August 29, 2025. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our fans waiting for the launch."
Originally a passion project by solo developer Yang Bing, *Lost Soul Aside* has evolved into a significant title under Sony's China Hero Project. Bing, now the founder and CEO of the Shanghai-based studio Ultizero Games, has seen the project grow from its initial viral reveal in 2016 to a major showcase at Sony's State of Play broadcast. The game has garnered excitement for blending Final Fantasy-style characters with the fast-paced combat of Devil May Cry.
In a recent interview with IGN, Yang Bing discussed the extensive journey to bring *Lost Soul Aside* to fruition. The game features the main character, Kesar, who uses a versatile, shape-shifting weapon that alters gameplay dynamics. Accompanied by a dragon-like companion named Arena, Kesar can summon abilities to aid in battles. *Lost Soul Aside* focuses on aerial dodging, precision timing, and intricate combos, coupled with epic boss fights, set within a sci-fi narrative that spans multiple dimensions. Bing describes Kesar's journey as one of "redemption and discovery," though the full scope of the story remains under wraps in the game's trailers.
