Lokko: A New 3D Platformer from India's Appy Monkeys, Powered by Sony's India Hero Project
Appy Monkeys, an Indian game developer, in collaboration with Sony's India Hero Project, is bringing us Lokko, a vibrant 3D platformer. This exciting title features cross-play functionality across mobile, PC, and PS5, with DualShock support on all platforms.
The game, born from Sony's initiative to foster Indian game development, offers players a unique experience. Lokko blends intuitive level editors and a detailed avatar creator with a core gameplay loop centered around timely pizza delivery amidst a battle against the monopolistic Goobol food corporation.
Lokko in Action
Lokko's design cleverly incorporates elements reminiscent of successful modern games. The character customization, level creation tools, and stylized low-poly aesthetic draw parallels to titles like Roblox, yet Lokko benefits from the backing of PlayStation, potentially establishing itself as a compelling alternative.
While the gameplay mechanics aren't revolutionary, Appy Monkeys' vision is promising. The game's cross-platform compatibility and DualShock integration are particularly noteworthy. Lokko's release date is slated for sometime this year. In the meantime, check out another excellent cross-platform indie title, Dredge, from Black Salt Games!
