Remedy Entertainment recently shared progress updates on several key projects, including the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, Control 2, and Codename Condor, within its latest financial report. The report offered insights into each game's development stage and Remedy's overall publishing strategy.
Control 2 Reaches Production Readiness
The highly anticipated sequel, Control 2, has entered the "production readiness stage," signifying a fully playable version is now available for extensive testing and performance optimization. The development team is now focused on scaling up production to meet quality standards. Additionally, the Control Ultimate Edition, developed in partnership with Apple, is slated for release on Apple silicon Macs later this year.
Codename Condor in Full Swing
Codename Condor, the multiplayer Control spin-off, is currently in full production. Development includes the creation of multiple maps and mission types, with internal and limited external playtesting underway to gather feedback and refine gameplay. This marks Remedy's entry into the live-service market, with a planned "service-based fixed price" release model.
Alan Wake 2 and Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake Updates
Following positive critical and fan reception for Alan Wake 2's Night Springs expansion, Remedy confirmed the game has largely recouped its development and marketing costs. A physical Deluxe Edition is launching October 22nd, with a Collector's Edition following in December. Pre-orders are available on the official website.
The Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, a co-production with Rockstar Games, has transitioned from production readiness to full production. The team is focusing on creating a complete, playable experience, emphasizing unique gameplay features to differentiate the remake.
Remedy's Future with Control and Alan Wake
