Thomas Waterzooi is creating yet another unconventional art-inspired puzzle experience. His latest project Please, Watch The Artwork challenges players not to interact, but simply observe the artwork. The upcoming mobile title debuted at Summer Game Fest 2025's Day of the Devs showcase.
Following the success of Please, Touch The Artwork (2022) and its 2024 sequel, this new installment continues the series' experimental approach to interactive art with a psychological twist.
The spinoff doesn't replace the upcoming Please, Touch The Artwork 3, which Waterzooi confirmed remains in development. Take a first look at the reveal below.
Please, Watch The Artwork Wraps Players in Atmospheric Tension
At its essence, the game is an unconventional observation challenge. Players assume the role of a night guard at the fictional MaMA (Museum of Animated Modern Art), monitoring surveillance feeds of paintings that mysteriously shift and transform.
The objective is to identify subtle changes before anxiety overwhelms you. Featuring reimagined works by Edward Hopper, the experience brings over 40 paintings to life across six thematic galleries.
Players will encounter looping scenes of empty diners, wistful bedrooms, and shadow-filled streets - each with their own ambient soundscape. No musical score accompanies the experience; environmental audio becomes another element requiring careful attention.
The game launches on Android, iOS, PC, and Nintendo Switch platforms. Developers hint at an October release window for mobile versions. Waterzooi unveiled the project through an ASMR narration, enhancing its dreamlike quality. Visit the official website for additional details.
