Josef Fares Reveals Key Details About Split Fiction in Recent Interview

Hazelight Studios' Josef Fares recently revealed key details about their upcoming title, Split Fiction, in an interview. Reiterating previous statements, Fares stressed Hazelight's unwavering commitment to a single-purchase model, rejecting live-service elements and microtransactions. The studio has no plans for an IPO or acquisition:

"We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."

In a conversation with MinnMax, Fares confirmed that Split Fiction's main story arc clocks in at approximately 12-14 hours, comparable to It Takes Two. With optional missions and extra content, the total playtime could reach 16-17 hours.

While Hazelight is known for its cooperative games, Fares hinted at the potential for future single-player projects. He disclosed that Split Fiction's budget is double that of It Takes Two, but the studio will not release any post-launch DLC; all content will be available on launch day. Split Fiction will launch worldwide on March 6th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
