Insomniac Games almost gave us Resistance 4. While a pitch was made by the developers, including founder and retiring president Ted Price, the game never received approval. In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Price revealed this, stating that the concept was "wonderful," but ultimately the timing and market opportunity weren't right. He expressed the team's passion for continuing the Resistance story, highlighting its unique alternate history setting and the potential for further exploration of the Chimera.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, debuted on the PlayStation 3. It followed Insomniac's Ratchet & Clank games and presented an alternate history where aliens invade the UK in 1951. After the third installment, Insomniac shifted focus to projects like Marvel's Spider-Man and newer Ratchet & Clank titles.
Price's recent retirement announcement after 30 years at Insomniac Games saw Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang appointed as Co-Studio Heads. The studio's latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, with Marvel's Wolverine next in the pipeline.
