Goblinz Publishing, renowned for titles like Overboss and Oaken, has launched a new Android game: Ozymandias. This 4X strategy game, reminiscent of the Civilization series, offers exploration, expansion, exploitation, and extermination gameplay. Read on for a detailed overview.
Blazing Fast Gameplay
Set in the Bronze Age, Ozymandias lets you explore diverse Mediterranean and European civilizations. While retaining the strategic depth of a classic 4X game—city building, army raising, and conquering opponents—it distinguishes itself through its streamlined, rapid-paced design.
Unlike many 4X games that demand meticulous micromanagement of every resource, Ozymandias simplifies the experience. It's designed for swift gameplay, eliminating tedious details and allowing for quick, engaging sessions.
The game features eight detailed historical maps and 52 unique empires, each with distinct characteristics impacting gameplay strategy. Multiple game modes are available: multiplayer, solo, and asynchronous.
A typical match concludes within approximately 90 minutes, making it ideal for a quick gaming session akin to a board game. Simultaneous turns further accelerate the pace. However, this streamlined approach might also be perceived as overly simplistic by some players. Intrigued? Check out the trailer below!
Ready to Conquer?
Ozymandias is now available on Android via the Google Play Store for $2.79. Developed by The Secret Games Company using Unreal Engine 4, it initially launched on Steam for PC in March 2022.
