Are you eagerly awaiting the next installment of the Grand Theft Auto series? GTA 5 actor Ned Luke, the voice behind Michael De Santa, has some exciting predictions about GTA 6. Let's dive into what you can expect from this highly anticipated game and its development.
Rockstar Games To Do Something Unexpected For GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Expects GTA 6 to Make $1.3 Billion On Its First Day
In a recent interview with the YouTube channel Fall Damage, Ned Luke shared his bold prediction that GTA 6 will rake in a staggering $1.3 billion on its first day of sales. Reflecting on the success of GTA 5, which earned over $800 million in its first 24 hours back in 2013, Luke confidently stated that GTA 6 would surpass these numbers by a significant margin.
"Be patient. It's going to be worth the wait," Luke reassured fans, hinting at the incredible experience awaiting players. He emphasized that Rockstar Games always manages to keep fans on their toes, and GTA 6 will be no exception.
DFC Intelligence, a renowned research company, projects that GTA 6 will sell over 40 million copies and generate $3.2 billion in its first year alone, with $1 billion coming solely from pre-orders. These figures underscore the immense anticipation and potential of this upcoming title.
The Future Of GTA 5 Characters In GTA 6
Luke also touched on the possibility of GTA 5 characters appearing in GTA 6 and GTA Online. While his character, Michael, has been absent from GTA Online since its inception, the other protagonists, Trevor and Franklin, have made appearances.
Teasing fans, Luke hinted at Michael's potential return in a speculated final DLC for GTA Online or even in GTA 6 itself. Steven Ogg, who voiced Trevor, shared his ideal scenario with ScreenRant in January 2025, suggesting a dramatic "passing the torch" moment where Trevor could meet his end early in GTA 6.
"Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy," Luke cautioned, reflecting the secretive nature of Rockstar Games. Despite the enthusiasm from both actors, no official confirmation has been made regarding the characters' roles in GTA 6.
GTA 6 May Be At Its Testing Phase
According to former Rockstar Games Animator Mike York, GTA 6 might currently be in its in-house testing phase. In a now-deleted video interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz, as reported by GamesRadar, York highlighted the game's unique unpredictability, a hallmark of Rockstar's open-world design.
"There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't," York explained, emphasizing the game's potential for surprising player interactions.
York believes that GTA 6 is now undergoing in-house testing, with developers likely adding final touches and extras. He speculated that the game is at least playable at this stage, with numerous testers potentially having already experienced it.
Rockstar Games unveiled the first trailer for GTA 6 in December 2023, but since then, the company has kept details under wraps. Reports from Take-Two Interactive’s Financial Report in 2024 suggested a Fall 2025 release, but no specific date has been officially announced.
