Dynasty Warriors: Origins - Gem Crafting and Pyroxene Farming Guide
Boost your character's power in Dynasty Warriors: Origins by crafting and upgrading Gems! Gems provide passive buffs and can be equipped at any time, offering a significant advantage, especially on higher difficulties. This guide details gem crafting, upgrading, and the best strategies for obtaining Pyroxene, the crafting material.
Crafting and Leveling Gems
Gem crafting utilizes Pyroxene and is accessible at any Inn or tent. Navigate to your room and select "Create Gems" (the second option). You can use any number of Pyroxene; each crystal creates one gem at a 1:1 ratio. Five unique gems are craftable, with each Pyroxene offering a random chance at any of these.
Newly crafted gems start at level 1 and can be equipped via the Battle Preparations menu. Crafting duplicate gems grants experience (XP) to the base gem, increasing its potency with each level. For a broad approach, utilize all your Pyroxene at once for random gem creation and leveling.
For targeted gem acquisition, try the "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" effect. Crafting a single gem sometimes triggers this effect, randomly selecting three gems for subsequent Pyroxene use. Cancel this effect by exiting and re-entering the crafting menu. While tedious, crafting one gem at a time increases your chances of triggering "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" for your desired gem. Note that "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" reduces randomness but doesn't eliminate it entirely.
Here's a list of craftable gems and their effects:
Gem Name | Passive Boost |
---|---|
Oblivion Gem | Expands attack range. |
Vortex Gem | Boosts damage to airborne enemies. |
Scorch Gem | Boosts damage to parried enemies. |
Wellspring Gem | Restores health for every 100 enemies defeated. |
Ascendance Gem | Chance to automatically block officer attacks. |
Acquiring Pyroxene
Pyroxene crystals appear randomly across the overworld map as orange crystals. Collecting one crystal yields one Pyroxene and removes the crystal. Pyroxene respawns after completing skirmishes or battles, encouraging exploration of previously visited areas. Letters received in your Inn or tent room may also occasionally contain Pyroxene.
