Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Developers Looking Into Switch 2 Port
Says It "Could Be Interesting"
Following the remarkable success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, developer Sandfall Interactive is exploring the possibility of a release on the Switch 2. In a recent interview with French YouTuber mistermv on May 2, Expedition 33 Director Guillaume Broche shared insights into the studio's future plans.
Broche emphasized that the game's success has significantly altered their perspective, saying, "Well, at this point, considering the success of the game, it kind of changes everything."
When questioned about a potential Switch 2 release, Broche noted that the studio is currently overwhelmed with numerous opportunities. "So clearly, it's too early to say, but we're kind of in a situation where... let's say there are a lot of opportunities showing up - way too many at once - and we're figuring out what we'll go for and what we won't. But yeah, it's definitely something that could be interesting," he explained.
With the Switch 2's anticipated launch on the horizon, it seems fitting that this year's top-rated game could also grace the new handheld console. Fans eagerly await confirmation on whether they will be able to enjoy the Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG on Nintendo's latest device.
No Official Merchandise…Yet!
Amidst the flurry of requests and opportunities, Sandfall Interactive has been approached about creating official merchandise, particularly an Esquie plush. They have yet to produce any official merchandise and have warned fans about the proliferation of fake items online. In a Twitter (X) post dated May 14, they clarified, "To be clear: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed."
They also cautioned against purchasing these items, noting that many use AI-generated artwork and could be scams. However, they are actively considering the production of official Esquie plushies.
The post continued, "But here’s the wheee to balance out the whooo: we are looking into making official Esquie plushies, and we want to bring them to you as soon as we can. In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!"
The fanbase's enthusiasm for Expedition 33 remains high, and with Sandfall's recent announcement, official merchandise is on the horizon. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay updated with the latest news by checking out our article below!
