What Do You Do in Atuel, the Documentary Game?
Atuel immerses players in the stunning yet climate-impacted Atuel River Valley in Argentina. This game transcends traditional gameplay, offering an experiential journey where players shapeshift into various animals and elements of the ecosystem, merging with the landscape itself. One moment you could be gliding through the skies, and the next, you're flowing as the river.
The game also integrates real-life interviews with historians, biologists, geologists, and local residents, providing insights into the region's history, its current state, and the looming changes due to climate change. Matajuegos partnered with The 12.01 Project, an international documentary team, to weave these compelling narratives into the game.
Atuel's visuals are particularly striking, drawing inspiration from the Cuyo desert and creating an almost otherworldly atmosphere. As the game gears up for its Android release, you can stay updated via the Steam page or the official website. Once launched on mobile, Atuel will feature localization in seven additional languages and full controller support.
