Developers Massive Entertainment and publisher Ubisoft have revealed a major upcoming expansion for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the acclaimed 2023 first-person shooter set on the vibrant world of Pandora. This update, timed to coincide with the game's third anniversary on December 5 and the theatrical premiere of the third Avatar film, Fire and Ash, on December 19, introduces a fully optional third-person camera mode and a New Game+ feature. Massive's development team explained that it has "overhauled animations, controls, audio, and camera systems to ensure a smooth and natural feel" when playing from a third-person viewpoint. In the New Game+ mode, players will carry over their entire inventory and unlocked skills into a new campaign run. This new playthrough will feature more powerful equipment to tackle stronger adversaries, along with a brand-new skill tree to master.
Since its initial release, Frontiers of Pandora has been enriched with several substantial updates, including a 40fps performance mode for consoles, The Sky Breaker and Secrets of the Spires story expansions, and a comprehensive overhaul of the Hunter's Guide system.
