The narrative arc of World of Warcraft: The War Within continues well beyond the Siren Isle update. Season 2 is slated for release later in 2025, bringing fresh endgame activities and the next major chapter of this expansion. Meanwhile, Patch 11.0.7 introduces several story quests that pave the way for Patch 11.1, focusing on Undermine, the goblin capital city. Additionally, a quest series awaits to conclude Dalaran’s tragic destruction saga, though it will not be accessible immediately upon the patch launch.

Dalaran has been a cornerstone of Warcraft and World of Warcraft for years, but the floating magical city may never fully recover from the events of The War Within. This epilogue questline serves as a fitting conclusion to that storyline, offering a proper farewell to what was once a vital social hub in both Wrath of the Lich King and Legion.

How to Start the Patch 11.1 Prologue
In contrast to the Dalaran Epilogue, the Lingering Shadows campaign is available immediately. You do not need to finish either the leveling or Level 80 campaigns to begin. However, if you are behind on the story, completing those first is recommended to avoid spoilers and gain better context for character dialogues. The Lingering Shadows campaign includes the following quests:

- Ringing in the Deeps

After finishing Found Friends, speak with Orweyna. Although her quest is separate from the main campaign, it provides valuable insights into plot points that will likely appear in future updates for The War Within or other expansions within the World Soul Saga.
How to Start Dalaran Epilogue in World of Warcraft: The War Within
Upon initial release, the Dalaran Epilogue featured a three-week unlock gate. As of January 7th, this wait time has been removed. To access this campaign, you must have completed both The War Within leveling campaign and the Level 80 campaign. The latter requires reaching Renown Four with all four Khaz Algar factions.
If you are unsure whether you meet these requirements, visit Foundation Hall to start the Patch 11.1 prologue quests. If you see Khadgar there, he will offer a quest once January 7th arrives or later. If he is absent, it indicates that you still have campaign quests remaining. Completing this campaign unlocks the Fate of the Kirin Tor achievement and awards the "Witness of the Kirin Tor" title.
