The record-breaking Nintendo Switch 2 maintains strong momentum this summer. Although the console is currently available on Amazon, many players struggle to find compatible microSD cards in stock - or at reasonable prices.
Fortunately, Walmart has delivered this week with an excellent 512GB option priced at $78. This represents the most competitive pricing we've seen for this storage capacity among currently available models.

Optimized for Switch 2
SanDisk 512GB GamePLAY microSD Express Card
Availability varies by region. Original price: $119.99 (35% off) $78.00 at Walmart $119.99 at Amazon Important: Stock fluctuates frequently and shipping is limited to select ZIP codes. Check your local Walmart for in-store pickup if shipping isn't available.
The Perfect 512GB microSD Express Solution for Nintendo Switch 2
While Walmart's own onn microSDXC Express Card may be slightly cheaper, it's been unavailable for weeks - making this SanDisk model the most reliable choice.
Amazon does carry a Mario-branded microSD Express from Samsung at $59, but this 512GB option delivers twice the storage for only about $20 more.
The same 512GB SanDisk card lists for $120 on Amazon with estimated August/September delivery - making Walmart's $78 price point with faster shipping a $42 saving.
Note that Switch 2 requires microSD Express cards exclusively - these offer superior performance but at a premium compared to standard Switch 1 cards.
The transition is fortunately seamless. These new cards match the system's 256GB internal storage performance, a significant upgrade from the original Switch's 32GB capacity.
In related news, Amazon now carries the official Switch 2 Pro Controller following resolution of their dispute with Nintendo. New listings also include the upcoming Donkey Kong Bananza, launching July 17.
