Vay Android Remake Unveiled

SoMoGa Inc. has released a modernized version of Vay for Android, iOS, and Steam. Vay, a classic 16-bit RPG, has been resurrected with updated graphics, a streamlined interface, and controller support.

Originally launched in Japan in 1993 for the Sega CD (developed by Hertz and localized for the US by Working Designs), Vay received an iOS re-release by SoMoGa in 2008. This latest iteration builds upon that legacy.

What's New in the Revamped Vay?

This updated Vay boasts over 100 enemies, a dozen challenging bosses, and exploration across 90 diverse areas. A standout feature is its adjustable difficulty levels. The addition of auto-saving is a welcome convenience, complemented by Bluetooth controller support for flexible gameplay. Players can acquire new equipment and items, characters level up to learn new spells, and an AI system allows for autonomous character combat.

The Story:

Set in a distant galaxy scarred by a millennium-long interstellar war, the narrative unfolds on Vay, a technologically underdeveloped planet. A malfunctioning colossal war machine crashed here, unleashing devastation.

Players embark on a quest to rescue their abducted wife, a mission that may also determine the fate of the world. The peaceful wedding day is interrupted by an attack, leading the protagonist on an epic journey to halt the destructive war machines.

Vay's captivating story blends nostalgic charm with fresh elements, staying true to its JRPG roots with experience and gold gained through random encounters. The game features approximately ten minutes of animated cutscenes with English and Japanese audio options.

Vay revamped is available now on the Google Play Store as a premium title priced at $5.99. Be sure to check out our other gaming news as well.
