Poncle, the UK developer behind the hit roguelike Vampire Survivors, has offered a further update on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 port releases. Both the game's latest expansion and its most recent update arrived in May.
Initially launched in December 2021, Vampire Survivors is a top-down shooter where players face endless waves of enemies. Following its successful launch and a Nintendo Switch port, April's announcement of PS4 and PS5 versions promised a summer 2024 release. With summer underway in the UK, Poncle has provided a progress report.
While a precise release date for the PS4 and PS5 versions remains unannounced, Poncle assures players this will be revealed shortly, as stated in recent Twitter posts. The development team explains the extended timeframe is due to navigating the PlayStation submission process for the first time. They are also meticulously working on the PlayStation Trophies system, aiming for a polished achievement experience on Sony's platforms. The PC version boasts over 200 achievements on Steam.
