Dead Sails Kraken Boss Guide
Your adventure kicks off in the heart of town, right across from the Gun Store and Hospital, and in front of the Trading Hut. Start by ditching any unnecessary loot and gearing up. My top pick? A Rifle. It's a steal at $75 and packs enough punch to keep most enemies at bay, at least temporarily. Don't forget to stock up on coal to keep your boat's old-school engine running.
The next town is a whopping 10,000m away, so fire up your boat and set sail. You might be tempted to stop and take out Zombies and Drowned, but I'd advise against it unless you spot something truly valuable. To get your boat moving again, just add more coal. Don't let the worm on the right side scare you. Hold onto your loot until you reach the second safe zone to sell it off, but stay alert for Big Foot and Zombie mobs along the riverbanks.
After the second safe zone, you'll see burning buildings teeming with mobs. If you're with friends, tackle these together; otherwise, it's not worth the time due to the scattered spawn points. At around 12,000m, you'll find a castle-like house packed with Drowned but also stocked with Shotgun ammo and other valuable loot. Use these resources wisely.

By now, you're familiar with the core gameplay loop: kill, loot, repeat, and hope for enemy defeat. To truly excel, focus on efficiency. Use your boat as a mobile inventory, emptying your bag onto it to save time and space.
One game-changer I discovered while crafting this guide is stacking Zombies near the incinerator. It's tempting to rush out of those backwater towns, but efficient loot stacking pays off. Running low on fuel? Toss a few Zombies into the incinerator, and you're back in business.
Another tip: keep an eye on what's happening in Sherrif's offices. They often host a higher concentration of mobs, but the rewards in weapons and ammo are worth it. I kept my shotgun stocked for ages just by having a friend clear the ground floor as we explored each town.
Save your ammo, weapons, fuel, and medkits for the fortress at around 25,000m. It's under construction, making it a prime spot for ambushes. I wouldn't recommend going in without at least three others, ideally a full five-stack. Be strategic with your loot collection.
And remember, avoid engaging Big Feet after 30,000m. They're tough, hit hard, and drain your ammo quickly. Don't linger; plan your stops wisely. Loot is important, but not everything.
The town beyond 50,000m is a prime farming spot with plenty of Drowned and Zombies. It's perfect for gathering corpses for fuel, especially if you have friends with Shotguns or Sawnoffs. Coordinate to prep the bodies for loading quickly.

In the final safe zone, sell off everything you don't need and stock up on ammo, weapons, and medkits. Don't go easy on Zombies and Drowned; you'll want a stash of at least 8-10 corpses for fuel during the final stretch. At around 100,000m, you'll hit open waters and be ready to face the beast. The sign of its approach? Darkening skies.
As the Kraken emerges, everyone must pick a tentacle to attack. The boss has a lot of health, and each tentacle can deal damage if not properly repelled. If you have five players, form a pentagram-like shape and let everyone do their thing.
Watch out for the water splash ability, which causes AoE damage and is telegraphed by the Kraken winding back and creating a water trail with its tentacle. Use medkits liberally here, as some damage is unavoidable.
Lastly, be cautious of the Roar AoE, which deals minor damage but is unblockable and seems to give the boss a slight damage buff. You'll see it as white concentric circles emanating from the tentacle that used the ability.
As you can see, it's not as daunting as it seems. That's the essence of my Dead Sails Kraken Guide. To speed through the boss even faster, grab one of our Dead Sails codes and see how far and how fast you can go. Good luck and smooth sailing!
