Following recent allegations surrounding his 2020 Twitch ban, Turtle Beach has terminated its partnership with Dr Disrespect. The gaming accessory company had a long-standing relationship with the streamer, including a branded headset collaboration.
The allegations, made by former Twitch employee Cody Conners, claim Dr Disrespect engaged in inappropriate conduct involving a minor via Twitch's Whispers feature. These claims have prompted several partners to re-evaluate their relationships with Herschel "Guy" Beahm IV.
Turtle Beach confirmed to IGN the end of its partnership, which included a multi-year sponsorship deal signed in 2020 and the release of a co-branded headset. Dr Disrespect's merchandise has been removed from Turtle Beach's website.
This isn't Dr Disrespect's only recent partnership loss. Midnight Society, a game studio he co-founded, also severed ties, citing a shift in their understanding of the situation despite initially believing his claims of innocence.
Dr Disrespect continues to deny the allegations, stating no wrongdoing was acknowledged by Twitch and the matter was resolved in 2020. He has also announced a temporary break from streaming, likely extending his planned vacation in light of the current controversy. The duration of his hiatus and future plans remain undisclosed.
