This month marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, the concluding chapter of the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Released on May 19, 2005, it became the last Star Wars film overseen by George Lucas before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney seven years later.
Audiences entered Revenge of the Sith knowing that this was the moment when Anakin Skywalker would transform into Darth Vader. However, one of the film's most significant revelations was Order 66. This sinister directive from Palpatine turned the Clone Troopers against the Jedi, resulting in their mass execution. Given the sheer number of Jedi serving at the time, it seemed inevitable that some would evade capture. These survivors have since appeared in various canonical Star Wars stories, and today we're ranking the top 10 who left a lasting impression.
Some survived briefly, while others continued fighting well into the timeline. In a few cases, their ultimate fates remain shrouded in mystery. Regardless, each of these Jedi managed to survive the infamous command to "Execute Order 66."
Before we dive in, here are the ground rules: To qualify for this list, the characters must have been affiliated with the Jedi Order at some point before Order 66. Their ranks could range from Padawan to Jedi Master—or even young Initiates. This means we're excluding Force users like Darth Maul or Palpatine himself, who were never part of the Jedi Order. Similarly, individuals like Jod Na Nawood, who never joined the Order formally, are also excluded.
There was some internal debate about whether Asajj Ventress deserved inclusion. Although she trained under a Jedi, Ky Narec, for over 20 years, she never interacted with the Jedi Council or other members of the Order beyond her mentor. Her subsequent alignment with Count Dooku complicates her status as a Jedi. Thus, she earns an honorable mention. Speaking of which...
