Squad Busters is ditching Win Streaks! This means the days of endlessly climbing the win streak ladder for extra rewards are over. But that's not all that's changing.
Why the Change? When?
Squad Busters is removing Win Streaks because the system, instead of celebrating player skill, was causing undue stress and frustration. The feature will be removed on December 16th. However, your highest win streak will remain on your profile as a record of your achievement.
To compensate for the removal, players who reach certain win streak milestones (0-9, 10, 25, 50, and 100) before December 16th will receive exclusive emotes.
Unfortunately, there will be no refunds for coins spent on boosting win streaks. The developers cite maintaining game balance between free-to-play and paying players as the reason. Refunding coins, they argue, would disrupt the economy, particularly concerning the acquisition of characters from Reward Chests.
Player Reaction
The decision to remove Win Streaks has received mixed reactions. Some players welcome the move, seeing it as a step towards a less pay-to-win environment. Others, however, are less enthusiastic, particularly given the perceived inadequacy of the compensation offered.
