Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Celebrates 25 Years with Exciting News!
The legendary skateboarding game series, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, is turning 25! To mark this milestone, Tony Hawk himself has confirmed that he and Activision are collaborating on a special project.
Activision and Tony Hawk Team Up for THPS 25th Anniversary Celebration
In a recent YouTube appearance on Mythical Kitchen, Tony Hawk revealed the exciting news, stating, "I've been talking to Activision again, which is insanely exciting. We're working on something—This is the first time I've said that publicly." While details remain scarce, Hawk assures fans that this project will be something they'll truly appreciate.
The original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater launched on September 29, 1999, and launched a hugely successful franchise. While a remastered collection of THPS 1+2 was released in 2020, plans for remasters of THPS 3 and 4 were unfortunately canceled due to the closure of Vicarious Visions.
Anniversary Festivities and Speculation
The official THPS social media accounts have already begun celebrating the anniversary, sharing new artwork and hosting a giveaway for the THPS 1+2 Collector's Edition. The announcement of a new project has fueled speculation about a potential new game, possibly revealed during a rumored Sony State of Play event this month. While nothing is confirmed, the anticipation is high! Will it be a new game or a continuation of the previously canceled remaster project? Only time will tell.
