A fresh trailer for Superman has debuted, showcasing exciting new footage that gives viewers a clearer glimpse into the blockbuster DC Universe film arriving this July.
The trailer features Superman clashing with a host of powerful foes, all while a menacing Lex Luthor issues disturbing threats from the shadows. Luthor's profound hatred for the Man of Steel is palpable as he vows to target Lois Lane and everyone Superman holds dear. "No matter what you do to me, Luthor, your plans will fail," Superman defiantly replies.
Fresh scenes highlight Superman’s heroics: rescuing civilians, battling the fire-breathing kaiju glimpsed in earlier previews, being revitalized by solar energy, and a tense standoff with Nathan Fillion's Guy Gardner. The Green Lantern quips, "Make a move, Big Blue," though they likely find common ground by the film's end.
Additional footage reveals Krypto the Super-Dog teaming up with Superman for a dynamic, video game-style finisher against one of Luthor's henchmen, the city of Metropolis fracturing, and a peculiar shot of a bound Superman cradling what appears to be an alien infant. Later, a frustrated Mister Terrific shouts at a fallen Superman, demanding he stop playing games—a provocation Superman is quick to answer.
The trailer culminates with Superman soaring through the sky, unleashing his heat vision upon a legion of Luthor’s forces.

Earlier this month, the runtime for Superman was officially confirmed. Director and DCU head James Gunn also refuted claims that Warner Bros. pressured him to shorten the film.
Gunn stated on Threads that Superman, releasing July 11, runs for 2 hours and 9 minutes including credits and post-credits scenes. For comparison, this is 15 minutes shorter than 2013's Man of Steel starring Henry Cavill.
