Where to Stream The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep (and How It Fits Into The Witcher Timeline)

Geralt of Rivia returns! Well, his voice, anyway. Netflix expands its Witcher universe with Sirens of the Deep, an animated film set during the first season of the live-action series. Doug Cockle, the voice of Geralt in the acclaimed video games, once again lends his talents to the monster hunter.

IGN critic Jarrod Jones notes that while the pairing of Cockle's Geralt and Joey Batey's Jaskier (who also returns) has its appeal, it may primarily resonate with dedicated Witcher fans. Still, it might help bridge the gap until the arrival of The Witcher 4.

The Witcher universe originates from the works of Andrzej Sapkowski. Sirens of the Deep adapts the short story "A Little Sacrifice" from his second book. The film is set between episodes 5 and 6 of the Netflix series' first season. The official synopsis:

Hired to investigate attacks on a seaside village, mutant monster hunter Geralt unravels an age-old conflict between humans and sea people that threatens war between kingdoms. Aided by allies, he must solve the mystery before hostilities escalate.

What Else Is in The Witcher Universe?

Andrzej Sapkowski's book series launched the Witcher franchise. CD Projekt Red's video games, particularly The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, achieved immense critical acclaim, leading to numerous spin-offs and collaborations (including a real-life Gwent card game). The Witcher 4, with a new protagonist, was announced at the 2024 Game Awards.

Netflix joined the fray in 2019 with its live-action series starring Henry Cavill. Season 4, featuring Liam Hemsworth as Geralt, is slated for an April release.
