How to Get the Free Star-Lord Skin in Marvel Rivals’ Fortune & Colors Event
Similar to the Winter Celebration, earning the in-game currency, Danqing (represented by a paintbrush and red paint), is key to progressing in the Fortune & Colors event. You earn Danqing by completing event challenges within the new Clash of Dancing Lions game mode, as well as in Quick Play and Competitive matches.
While the standard daily challenges rotate, the event challenges remain consistent. Here are the currently available Fortune & Colors quests:
- Complete 3 Clash of Dancing Lions matches.
- Intercept the ball 3 times in a single Clash of Dancing Lions match.
Once you’ve accumulated enough Danqing, head to the event pass to unlock items. Unlocking the free Star-Lord Lion’s Mane skin requires 900 Danqing. While this might seem like a lot, the Fortune & Colors event runs until February 14th, giving you ample time to complete the necessary challenges.

Trying Out the Star-Lord Lion’s Mane Skin Without Unlocking It
Prefer to test-drive the Star-Lord Lion’s Mane skin before committing to the grind? You can! The Clash of Dancing Lions mode (think Rocket League, but with superheroes) features only three playable characters: Star-Lord, Black Widow, and Iron Fist—all sporting their Spring Festival skins. Simply playing this mode gives you a chance to experience these skins firsthand.
If Clash of Dancing Lions convinces you to add these skins to your collection, consider the Dancing Lions bundle in the in-game store. It offers the Iron Fist Lion’s Gaze and Black Widow Lion’s Heartbeat skins for 2,800 Units (approximately $20). This represents a significant saving compared to purchasing the skins individually.
