Artifacts are crucial in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, boosting Skif's stats significantly. To collect an artifact from an anomalous zone, players must use a detector to pinpoint its spawn location. The efficiency of this process depends on the detector type. Stalker 2 offers four distinct detectors, and this guide details each one and how to acquire them.
Echo Detector - Basic Artifact Finder

Players receive the Echo Detector early in Stalker 2, using it for much of the initial gameplay. This compact yellow device features a central light tube that flashes when an artifact is nearby.
The flashing and beeping increase in frequency based on the artifact's proximity. While effective for basic detection, pinpointing an artifact's exact location can be time-consuming.
Bear Detector - Enhanced Artifact Tracker

The Bear Detector is available during the A Sign of Hope side mission or from vendors in Stalker 2. It improves on the Echo Detector by showing a visual distance indicator.
Its display features rings that light up progressively as players near an artifact. When all rings are illuminated, the artifact is directly beneath, ensuring a successful spawn.
Hilka Detector - High-Precision Artifact Locator

The Hilka Detector, obtained during the Mysterious Case side mission from Sultan, is a more advanced tool. It displays numerical values indicating an artifact's position in an anomalous field. Decreasing numbers signal closer proximity, while increasing numbers suggest the player is moving away.
Veles Detector - Ultimate Artifact Detection Tool

The Veles Detector, earned by completing the In Search of Past Glory main mission, is the top-tier artifact detector in Stalker 2. Its radar display precisely locates artifacts and highlights nearby hazardous anomalies, keeping players safe during exploration.
