No More Stage Girls No More! Revue Starlight Re LIVE Shuts Down Service

Revue Starlight Re LIVE's Curtain Call: Game to Shut Down September 30th

The mobile game Revue Starlight Re LIVE, based on the popular anime, has announced its end of service (EOS). Servers will officially close on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC, marking the end of nearly six years on Android.

Why the Closure?

While initially a promising extension of the Revue Starlight story, the game struggled over its lifespan. Factors contributing to its closure include repetitive events, reused assets, and costly battle passes. Furthermore, narrative inconsistencies, such as abrupt plot shifts, alienated some players. The shutdown affects the global player base, including Japan.

A Few Shining Moments

Despite its shortcomings, Revue Starlight Re LIVE boasted a strong soundtrack featuring music from the anime, along with impressive 3D graphics and Live2D animations.

A Final Encore

Though its time is limited, players still have a few weeks to enjoy the game. Developers are offering several farewell events in August and September, including a "Thank You For Everything" campaign with daily free pulls and a two-month birthday celebration featuring new gacha events. Download the game from the Google Play Store for one last hurrah.
