No Man's Sky: Your Guide to Finding, Farming, and Crafting Solanium
Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with specific climates. This guide details how to acquire Solanium, whether through direct gathering, efficient farming, or crafting.
Finding Solanium:
Solanium's location mirrors that of Frost Crystals, but instead of frigid planets, you'll find it on hot, arid worlds. While in space, target a planet and use your scanner. Look for descriptions like "Arid Planet," "Incandescent Planet," "Boiling Planet," or "Scorched Planet," indicating the presence of Solanium.
Once landed, deploy your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with glowing vines. These are abundant in specific areas. Remember, you'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. If Phosphorus deposits are present, collect them as well; they're crucial for Solanium crafting.
Farming Solanium:
After progressing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines at your base. Utilize Hydroponic Trays or Bio-Domes, planting Solar Vines with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. On hot planets, direct ground planting is possible. Expect a 16-hour growth cycle.
Crafting Solanium:
Several Refiner recipes produce Solanium, most requiring Phosphorus (often sourced from hot planets, or purchased from traders/Galactic Trade Terminals). Here's a summary of crafting recipes:
- Solanium + Phosphorus (creates more Solanium)
- Phosphorus + Oxygen
- Phosphorus + Sulphurine
- Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine
Note that even Sulphurine-based recipes necessitate a visit to a hot planet. To ensure a steady Sulphurine supply, prioritize Phosphorus gathering and establish a base farm.
