Ryan Coogler continues his winning streak. As Eric Goldman noted in his IGN review: “Having already demonstrated his mastery of the boxing and superhero genres, Coogler now ventures into horror with the period vampire film Sinners. And the result? He proves to be exceptionally skilled in this genre as well.” Sinners debuted in theaters on April 18 and has since delivered the perfect one-two punch of commercial success and glowing reviews.

While experiencing Sinners on the biggest screen possible is highly recommended – let Coogler's own words convince you – a theater visit isn't always feasible. For audiences eager to watch the vampire epic from home, Sinners is now available for digital rental or purchase.

Sinners Arrives on Digital

Hoping to escape their difficult past, twin brothers return to their roots for a fresh start, only to find a far more terrifying evil awaiting their arrival. Watch on Prime Video

The digital release arrives roughly six weeks after the film's theatrical premiere. For comparison, Warfare became available for rent in under four weeks, while Snow White took about two months. This trend toward shorter theatrical exclusivity is industry-wide and does not diminish the film's accomplishment. Securing a six-week theatrical window for an original film is a notable achievement in today's market.

The successes continue. Sinners was produced on a reported $90 million budget, substantial for a horror film, yet it recouped its costs effortlessly. According to Box Office Mojo, the film has grossed over $350 million, currently ranking as the eighth highest-grossing film of 2025. This box office performance is especially impressive for an original, R-rated horror movie that is still playing in cinemas.

Streaming Release Date

Sinners is ultimately scheduled to stream on HBO Max, as it is distributed by Warner Bros., the streaming service's parent company. Recent Warner Bros. releases, such as Mickey 17, landed on streaming just under three months after their theatrical debut. Following this pattern, Sinners could arrive on HBO Max in mid-July. However, if its theatrical popularity endures, the streaming release might be delayed slightly.
