Rockstar Releases Bully Anniversary Update After Six Years

Rockstar, the renowned developers behind the GTA series, have released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year wait, this update marks a significant refresh for the game, available exclusively for mobile users and not for console or PC players.

Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!

Bully: Anniversary Edition has been enhanced with new language support and the update primarily focuses on improving stability and fixing bugs. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to address ongoing issues.

The update introduces Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) for Android users with compatible devices, updates the app icon, and adds haptic feedback for a more immersive experience on both Android and iOS platforms.

Several mission-specific bugs have been resolved, including issues in 'That Bitch' where Mandy’s locker was unpickable, 'Weed Killer' which wouldn't progress if the window was broken prematurely, and 'The Rumble' where police cars would fall through the floor. Additionally, the update corrects instances where enemies wouldn't attack Jimmy, ensuring more balanced combat, and addresses crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.

What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?

For years, fans have been clamoring for Bully 2, but Rockstar appears to have shifted its focus elsewhere. Although a sequel was reportedly in development during the 2010s, it was shelved to prioritize projects like Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 on the horizon, the prospects of Bully 2 seem dim, especially considering the departure of many original developers from Rockstar. While the new update isn’t a full remaster or sequel, it represents a meaningful upgrade for mobile players.

For those new to the series, Bully offers a unique take on a schoolyard sandbox game. Players assume the role of Jimmy Hopkins, a rebellious 15-year-old navigating life at Bullworth Academy. The game is infused with Rockstar's signature humor and open-world mischief.

You can experience Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, which also supports full gamepad functionality.
