This thrilling announcement was made on IO Interactive’s website, where they revealed that the game will introduce an entirely new narrative within the iconic Bond universe.
In Project 007, players will have the unique opportunity to step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent and embark on a journey to earn their 00 status. This game will serve as the very first James Bond origin story, offering a fresh perspective on the legendary character.
In an interview with IGN back in October, Hakan Abrak, the head of IO Interactive, shared insights about crafting this new origin story for the beloved spy. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," he explained. Abrak emphasized the game's originality, stating, "It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."
