Pokémon GO Anniversary Brings New Raids and Bonuses!

Pokémon GO's 8th Anniversary Extravaganza!

Get ready for a week-long celebration starting Friday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m. and lasting until Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024, at 8:00 p.m.! This anniversary event is packed with exciting new Pokémon, boosted bonuses, and enhanced raid and trading opportunities.

Here's a glimpse of the festivities:

New Pokémon and Shiny Encounters:

Party-hat-wearing Grimer and Muk will be making appearances, with a chance to encounter a Shiny Grimer! Meltan also returns with a boosted shiny rate when using a Mystery Box during the event.

Friendship and Trading Boosts:

Become Lucky Friends more easily and increase your chances of obtaining Lucky Pokémon through trades. Friendship levels will advance rapidly by opening Gifts, trading, or battling together. You might even discover 8 or 88 Gimmighoul Coins when spinning PokéStops with a Golden Lure Module.

Rotating Catch Bonuses:

Enjoy these special bonuses throughout the event:

  • June 28th-29th: Half Egg Hatch Distance
  • June 30th-July 1st: Double XP for catching Pokémon
  • July 2nd-3rd: Double Stardust for catches

Raids and Research:

One-star raids will feature the costumed Pokémon with increased Shiny odds. Event-themed Field Research tasks will reward encounters with partner Pokémon like Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, and Mudkip, plus Mega Energy for Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Sceptile, Blaziken, and Swampert.

Timed Research and More:
