Japanese YouTuber Hajimesyacho took to Twitter (X) to share his impressive milestone of collecting 50,000 cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Known for his diverse content ranging from product reviews to vlogs and challenges, Hajimesyacho's dedication to the game is truly noteworthy.
On January 19, 2025, Hajimesyacho announced his rare achievement: he had collected 50,000 cards by purchasing the maximum amount of Poké Gold available every day since the mobile game's launch on October 30, 2024. The daily limit for Poké Gold purchases is 720, which costs around $100 per day. Over the 85 days the game has been live, Hajimesyacho has spent an estimated $8,500.
This calculation does not account for any sales events during the global launch and holiday season. Hajimesyacho's commitment to the game has allowed him to collect every available card from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs, as well as time-exclusive promo cards.
The latest card released, a Trainer card named Pokedex, enables players to view the top three cards of their deck. This card was awarded to players in celebration of reaching 40 billion cards collected worldwide in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
McDonald’s X Pokemon Happy Meals Collab

This collaboration offers 15 randomly obtainable physical cards, including Miraidon, Roaring Moon, Rayquaza, and more. Seven of these cards are "holo" or "foil" cards, featuring a glossy and reflective finish. Additionally, TCG Pocket players can redeem 24 Pack Hourglasses and 12 Hourglasses, which can be used to open booster packs and select a single card from Wonder Pick.
The collaboration features four variants of Pokémon Happy Meal boxes, showcasing popular dragon-type Pokémon like Charizard, Rayquaza, Roaring Moon, and Dragonite with Pikachu. These exclusive items are available at participating McDonald's stores until supplies last. Remember, TCG Pocket’s rewards expire on March 31, 2025, so be sure to redeem them before the deadline.
Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Upcoming Trade Feature
On January 17, 2025, Pokémon TCG Pocket announced more details about its upcoming trade feature via Twitter (X). Trades can only be conducted between friends, and the cards must be of the same rarity. Cards with 1-4 diamonds and 1-star rarity are eligible for trading, while rarer cards like Special Illustration Rare, Immersive, and Crown Rares are excluded. An item must be consumed to use this feature, similar to how Pokémon GO players use Stardust for trading.
Certain cards from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs are currently available for trade, with the TCG Pocket team promising to expand the card selection in the future. They stated, "We’ll continue to monitor player feedback and assess future updates to the trade feature while keeping in mind how to balance both the ease and enjoyability of collecting."
Additionally, a new booster pack is set to be released this January, though the exact date remains undisclosed.
