Pokemon Fan Creates Convergent Forms For Ralts

Authore: FinnUpdate:Jan 25,2025

A creative Pokémon fan has designed unique convergent forms for Ralts, with distinct appearances for each gender. The Pokémon fanbase frequently leverages existing franchise concepts to fuel their creative endeavors, and convergent forms are a popular example.

Introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, convergent Pokémon share ecological similarities resulting in analogous designs, despite being different species. Paldea and Kitakami boast six such Pokémon: Toedscool, Toedscruel, Wiglett, Wugtrio, Poltchageist, and Sinistcha, the convergent counterparts of Tentacool, Tentacruel, Diglett, Dugtrio, Polteageist, and Sinistea, respectively. This concept inspires fan creations, like a recent artwork showcasing Ralts' convergent forms.

Twitter user OnduRegion envisioned two distinct convergent Ralts, collectively named "Salts." The female variant resembles a mermaid, its bowl cut adorned with a starfish, its eyes visible. The male variant sports a differently colored tail, shark-like fins in its bowl cut, and a concealed face.

Creative Pokémon Fan Art Reimagines Ralts as a Water-Type

OnduRegion's artwork includes detailed descriptions of the Pokémon's abilities and stats. The female Salts is a Water/Psychic type, its Pokédex entry describing its habit of luring ocean-goers to steal their possessions. The male Salts, a Water/Dark type, is characterized as a stubborn, clumsy creature that strengthens its teeth by biting hard objects.

This isn't OnduRegion's first impressive contribution to the Pokémon community. Previous works include remarkable fan art featuring new Charcadet forms, a novel Hawlucha evolution, and striking Paradox Forms for Mewtwo X and Y. These Ralts convergent forms, like their predecessors, seamlessly blend creativity with the established Pokémon aesthetic. The accompanying lore further enhances the believability of these imaginative designs, making it easy for fans to envision Ralts with convergent forms in the actual game.
