- Gigantamax Grimmsnarl arrives via six-star Max Battles
- Impidimp and its evolutionary line make their debut
- A host of new Shiny Pokémon become available for the first time
The Pokémon Go Wild Area: Global event is returning worldwide on November 15th and 16th, following an offline gathering in Nagasaki. Originally announced last month, this update now features the global premiere of Gigantamax Grimmsnarl alongside several fresh encounters and gameplay additions.
Gigantamax Grimmsnarl stars in its Pokémon Go debut during six-star Max Battles on both event days. Completing the linked Special Research also grants a direct encounter with Gigantamax Grimmsnarl, cementing it as a major highlight of the weekend festivities.
The mischievous Impidimp and its evolutions, Morgrem and Grimmsnarl, are entering the game for the first time. Impidimp can be found in the wild or hatched from 5 km Eggs, with Shiny variants available upon release. Evolve it into Morgrem using 25 Candy, then upgrade to Grimmsnarl with an additional 100 Candy.
Team GO Rocket is participating in the event by introducing Shadow Darkrai to Pokémon Go for the first time. Shadow Cresselia will appear in Shadow Raids on Saturday, while Shadow Darkrai takes over on Sunday; both forms have a chance of appearing as Shiny variants.
Several other Shiny Pokémon are debuting globally, including Unown W, Hatenna, and Impidimp. Purchasing the paid event ticket boosts your odds of encountering these rare creatures throughout the two-day celebration. Don't forget to redeem your Pokémon Go codes in advance!
Additional updates include wild spawns aligned with Lurking Dark Hour and Fanciful Fairy Hour, the arrival of powerful Pokémon with enhanced stats and difficulty, and a commemorative Special Background for catching specific targets like Shadow Darkrai, Shadow Cresselia, Bewear (in its wilderness cape), and Gigantamax Grimmsnarl.
