Pokémon Go is kicking off October with a metallic-themed lineup, highlighted by the debut of Dynamax Duraludon in the upcoming Steel Skyline event and the highly anticipated arrival of Mega Metagross in a special Raid Day. These events coincide with ongoing XP Celebration bonuses, offering a prime opportunity for players seeking Shiny encounters, raid challenges, and additional rewards over the coming weeks.
The Steel Skyline event begins on September 30th and concludes on October 7th. Headlining the festivities is the first appearance of Dynamax Duraludon in four-star Max Battles. You'll also encounter Dynamax Drilbur, Rookidee, and Beldum across other raid tiers, with a chance to find their Shiny variants. In the wild, Steel-type Pokémon such as Magnemite, Aron, and Togedemaru will appear more frequently.
The event introduces global throwing challenges that offer rewards ranging from bonus Candy XL to guaranteed Rare Candy XL in raids, based on overall community participation. Alongside themed Field Research and both free and ticketed Timed Research, there are numerous ways to encounter Duraludon.

Just a few days later, on October 4th, Mega Metagross finally arrives for its dedicated Mega Raid Day. Active from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, the event provides a chance to encounter a Shiny Metagross, and all Metagross caught during these raids will know the move Shadow Claw. Event bonuses include free raid passes, increased XP and Stardust gains, and higher limits for Remote Raids.
