Get ready for a blast from the past as Pikmin Bloom celebrates its 3.5th anniversary next month! Starting on May 1st, 2025, Niantic is bringing back the nostalgia with a special event that runs until May 31st, 2025. This anniversary update is a delightful throwback to the golden days of Nintendo.
The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!
Pikmin Bloom has always delighted us with unique decor, from Pikmin dressed in Mahjong Tiles to those sporting Playing Cards. This time, for its 3.5th anniversary, the game is introducing classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s. Adding to the nostalgia, there's a new Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin, paying homage to Nintendo’s beginnings in the playing card industry before venturing into video games. The designs of these cards are inspired by Nintendo's vintage playing card decks.
Throughout the event, you'll have a full month to engage in missions and collect these new Pikmin. Completing Event Challenge missions will reward you with random items like Game Button Cells, seedlings that can grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.
During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will also appear. Crushing these mushrooms will yield Mystery Boxes containing Game Button Cells, flower petals, and other goodies. The Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 and Playing Card Decor Pikmin are especially effective at tackling these mushrooms.
Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May
May is the season for blooming, and Pikmin Bloom is no exception. Planting red, yellow, white, or blue petals around the May flowers can lead to the growth of carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or special anniversary roses.
Additionally, there's a nectar update for May. Fruits obtained from mushrooms will now provide nectar for regular flowers, as well as for the special blooms like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.
