A Free Demo Arrives at Steam Next Fest!
Mark your calendars! A free demo of Guns Undarkness will be available during Steam Next Fest, launching February 24th, 2025. This demo offers approximately 20 minutes of gameplay, providing a taste of the core mechanics, including the tutorial, battle system, weaponry, and early-game strategies.
Meguro, a veteran composer at Atlus since 1995 (with credits on Shin Megami Tensei and Persona), transitioned to indie development in 2021 while continuing his work with Atlus. Guns Undarkness, initially unveiled at Indie Live Expo Winter 2021 and successfully funded via Kickstarter in 2022, will enter Early Access later this year.
Inspired by Metal Gear Solid and Persona
Guns Undarkness blends turn-based tactical combat with stealth mechanics, drawing inspiration from both Metal Gear Solid and the Persona series. Set in a dystopian 2045, players assume the role of a private military contractor, embarking on critical missions alongside allies to unravel the mysteries threatening humanity's survival.
Gameplay seamlessly integrates stealth sections, allowing players to navigate environments undetected, gaining a significant advantage in subsequent turn-based battles. Strategic command of characters and skillful firearm usage are key to victory.
The Early Access release on PC is slated for Spring 2025, promising around 10 hours of gameplay. While a precise release date remains unannounced, the upcoming demo provides an excellent opportunity to experience this unique blend of stealth and tactical RPG action.
