Obtaining Nightmare Crownless: A Step-by-Step Guide
Unlocking Nightmare Crownless requires completing the "Ruins Where Shadows Roam" quest and a subsequent step.
1. Completing "Ruins Where Shadows Roam"
Unlike typical quests, "Ruins Where Shadows Roam" isn't initiated by an NPC. Instead:
- Access the Exploration Progress menu for the Penitent's End region in Rinascita. (This is found by opening your map and selecting the compass icon.)
- This quest is intrinsically linked to "Quest of Faith," an optional quest requiring the defeat of four enemies in specific Penitent's End locations.
2. Completing "Quest of Faith"
- Locate the Resonance Beacon across the broken bridge in Wailing Ascent.
- Interact with the prompt near the circular arena adjacent to the beacon. This initiates a battle against a Questless Knight.
Defeating the Questless Knight requires strategy:
- Lure the knight near a lit Macabre Torch within the arena.
- Reignite extinguished torches by using Fae Ignis enemies to strike them.
- Avoid using high-damage skills near the torches to prevent accidental extinguishing.
3. Locating Dream Patrols
After completing "Ruins Where Shadows Roam" and "Quest of Faith," locate all four Dream Patrols in Penitent's End (see image above). While completing these patrols isn't mandatory for unlocking Nightmare Crownless, doing so yields additional resources and Monnaie. Once all patrols are found, Nightmare Crownless will appear on your map within the ruins north of Penitent's End.
4. Nightmare Echo Considerations
Remember that Nightmare Echoes utilize Enhanced Absorption charges, significantly boosting Echo drop rates. Players receive only 15 charges weekly, so allocate them strategically if you're developing multiple characters.
