Neil Druckmann: No Bets on The Last of Us Part 3

If you're a fan of *The Last of Us* eagerly awaiting news on a potential *Part 3*, you might want to brace yourself. Neil Druckmann, the series creator, has recently thrown cold water on those hopes in a comprehensive interview with Variety. The focus of the discussion was largely on the upcoming *The Last of Us* TV series, but Druckmann addressed the possibility of a *Part 3* with a firm statement:

“I was waiting for this question,” he said with a sigh. “I guess the only thing I would say is don’t bet on there being more of ‘Last of Us.’ This could be it.”

This revelation leaves fans wondering if Druckmann's words are final. Currently, Naughty Dog is deeply engaged in developing *Intergalactic*, announced at The Game Awards last December. With no release window in sight, it's clear that the studio's focus is firmly on this new space-themed project, leaving little room for *The Last of Us Part 3* in the near future. Druckmann might be playing his cards close to the chest, or perhaps he's genuinely signaling the end of the road for the series. Only time will tell if his stance changes.

For those still hungry for more *The Last of Us*, the television series offers a glimmer of hope. The second season is set to premiere on April 13 on Max. While Druckmann remains uncertain about the number of seasons needed to complete the story from *Part 2*, an HBO executive suggested in February that four seasons might be the ideal length to fully explore the narrative.
