NetherRealm Studios unleashes T-1000 and Madam Bo in Mortal Kombat 1 DLC.
Prepare for a metallic maelstrom! NetherRealm has unveiled gameplay footage of the T-1000, the final DLC character for Mortal Kombat 1's Khaos Reigns expansion. The footage showcases the T-1000's signature shape-shifting abilities and brutal attacks, featuring the voice and likeness of Robert Patrick, reprising his iconic role from Terminator 2. His Fatality is a particularly gruesome recreation of the film's climactic truck chase scene.
Adding to the excitement, Madam Bo, a fan-favorite character from the main game's story, joins the roster as a new Kameo fighter. A brief glimpse of her in-game action is included in the T-1000 gameplay trailer.
The T-1000 becomes playable for Khaos Reigns owners on March 18th, with general release on March 25th. Madam Bo arrives as a free update for Khaos Reigns owners on March 18th, or as a standalone purchase.
The release of the T-1000 concludes the Khaos Reigns DLC, sparking speculation about future content. While Warner Bros. Discovery has reaffirmed its commitment to the Mortal Kombat franchise, the possibility of a third Kombat Pack remains uncertain.
NetherRealm's Ed Boon previously stated that the studio's next project was decided three years ago, but pledged continued support for Mortal Kombat 1. While many anticipate a return to the Injustice franchise, no official announcements have been made. Boon cited the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to Unreal Engine 4 as factors influencing the decision to develop another Mortal Kombat title before returning to Injustice. However, he confirmed that the Injustice franchise is not closed off.
