Monster Hunter Wilds update adds endgame hub in April

Capcom has revealed initial information about Monster Hunter Wilds' first major update, scheduled for early April.

Alongside the massive launch of Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom outlined Title Update 1 in a Steam post. The developers explained that the April release timing - coming about a month after the base game - "will give hunters adequate time to prepare for the new content and challenges ahead."

The update introduces heightened difficulty: "Sharpen your weapons and steel your resolve, hunters!" Capcom stated. "TU1 introduces an exceptionally powerful monster beyond Tempered level!" The patch will indeed add this formidable new creature.

Interestingly, Title Update 1 also includes a dedicated endgame gathering space. "TU1 brings a new social hub where hunters can meet, communicate, share meals, and more!" Capcom announced. "This area unlocks after completing the main story, so keep hunting and prepare for its arrival!"

Community reactions to the endgame gathering space have been divided - while some players welcome the addition, others question why it wasn't included at launch. The feature appears similar to previous games' Gathering Hubs, though notably Capcom hasn't used that terminology. Since Monster Hunter Wilds currently lacks a proper social space (beyond occasional camp visitors), this addition could address that gap.

IGN's review awarded Monster Hunter Wilds 8/10, praising its refined combat but noting: "While smartly polishing the series' rough edges for extremely fun battles, it currently lacks significant challenge."
