The enchanting cozy adventure game, Mika and the Witch's Mountain, is set to launch on multiple platforms on January 22, 2025. Following a successful early access period beginning August 21, 2024, the full game will be available for Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. This complete version includes exciting new features and promises post-launch content.
Drawing inspiration from Studio Ghibli's Kiki's Delivery Service, players embody the young witch Mika, working as a parcel courier in a charming town nestled at the foot of a magical mountain. The early access release garnered significant attention from fans of cozy adventure games, and the console launch is highly anticipated.
As announced by developers Chibig and Nukefist (via Gematsu), the January 22nd release marks the end of early access. The game boasts broomstick flight across a mini open world, collectible items, and a heartwarming narrative filled with endearing characters. Early access updates introduced popular additions such as fishing and mini-games featuring Churro and a kitten, pet companions, expanded language support, cosmetic items, and new achievements. All these features, and more, will be part of the full release. Furthermore, a post-launch patch, "Into the Mont Gaun," will introduce dungeon gameplay reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda series. This patch, according to the developers, will complete the game's vision as originally conceived during its 2023 Kickstarter campaign.
Console Release Date:

The developers have confirmed that "Into the Mont Gaun" will be the final content update for Mika and the Witch's Mountain. The game has already received overwhelmingly positive Steam reviews ("Very Positive") during its early access phase. Fans of titles like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing: New Horizons will likely find Mika and the Witch's Mountain a captivating and relaxing magical experience, a welcome contrast to more action-oriented games such as Hogwarts Legacy. The game's full release promises a delightful, laid-back adventure across various consoles.
