Initially used for industrial transport, these boats transitioned to luxury pleasure cruises as they were outpaced by steam trains and screw propeller boats. Today, they offer entertainment and relaxation, much like the riverboat cruise my wife and I enjoyed on our honeymoon in New Orleans, complete with dining, dancing, and live jazz.

This LEGO set is a true delight for enthusiasts. It features a detailed jazz lounge and dining room, as well as practical areas like the boiler engine room, which connects to the paddle wheel. Pushing the boat causes the wheel to turn, adding an interactive element. The pilothouse includes a steering wheel that controls the rudder, a kitchen, sleeping quarters for the crew, and an anchor with a chain that rolls up on a spool. Additionally, another spool adjusts the boarding stages at the ship's bow.

The set's 4,090 pieces are organized into 32 bags, starting with the ship's base, which includes the boiler room and a miniature nautical museum.
